Curious Copepodite Privacy Policy

Alright, this is important. Here I’ll explain how I collect, use, and protect your data. I’ll skip the boring technical talk, but I’ll stick to the law (especially the European General Data Protection Regulation, also known as GDPR, and other privacy rules).

1. Who’s behind this website

The person responsible for the data you share here is me, Vanesa González Ortiz, creator of Curious Copepodite, operating from Spain. If you have any questions, you can contact me at curiouscopepodite@gmail.com.

2. What data I collect and why

I only collect the basics — just enough to keep the website running and let you enjoy the resources. The types of data I may collect include:

  • Your email: if you subscribe to my list, so I can send you my emails full of fun ocean facts, stories, exclusive products, and yes… to sell you more cool resources.
  • Purchase data: when you make a purchase, Shopify collects your billing and payment details. I only see the necessary info to send you your product (which is digital) and, if you agree, to keep you updated on new stuff.
  • Technical data: like most websites, cookies and anonymous data might be stored to keep things working properly (don’t worry, I’m not tracking your every move like a great white shark — just enough so the website doesn’t crash).

3. What I DON’T do with your data

  • I don’t sell it.
  • I don’t give it away.
  • I don’t share it with anyone, except for the services needed to run this website (like Shopify, my email marketing provider, etc.).

4. About the emails

If you join my list:

  • You’ll get fun content, updates, and a little bit of selling every day.
  • You can unsubscribe anytime, no drama, no awkward questions. Every email includes a link to opt-out.

5. About your data security

I take this seriously. I use security measures to protect your data, and the tools I use (like Shopify and my email marketing provider MailerLite) are also required to comply with privacy laws.

6. Your rights

It’s your data — you’re in control. You can ask me at any time to:

  • Access the data I have about you.
  • Correct anything that’s incorrect.
  • Delete your data if you don’t want me to have it anymore.
  • Limit how I use your data.
  • Object to certain uses of your data.
  • Request your data to be transferred elsewhere (portability).
